What’s New at the 2009 Summit? Every year the Summit Committee and NANPA staff strive to make your Summit experience better. Dynamic new sessions, workshops and events, along with returning favorites, await you at this year’s Summit in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Expanded Workshops The number of workshops offered at the Summit has once again been increased! We have workshops for every experience level this year. Check out the full descriptions and listings online.
NANPA’s Green Policy NANPA now has a Green Policy:
The North American Nature Photography Association is committed to minimizing its impact on the environment by pursuing environmentally friendly processes in its programs, policies, and day-to-day operations. In selection of sites for our events, preference is given to destinations that have active and ongoing environmental programs and policies.
...and the Summit is making some environmental-friendly changes. For example, the registration brochure is printed on partially recycled paper with vegetable-based ink. At the Summit, conference totes and water bottles will be made of recycled material, and there will be no printed handouts or attendees’ lists in registration bags. That information will be available online for registrants to print out if they wish.
Members’ Print Show This year we will have a non-juried print show in the Exhibit Hall. This is a unique opportunity to show your work to peers! There are a limited number of wall spaces available, so enter early! Find out more.
Online Forums
Three online forums will allow you to meet fellow Summit attendees prior to arriving in Albuquerque. Fun Shoot Forum: The NANPA Fun Shoot continues this year by way of the Fun Shoot Forum. Want to join with other attendees who plan on shooting at Bosque del Apache or other places near Albuquerque? This is an online opportunity for attendees to connect with others. Join the Fun Shoot Forum here. Friends and Family Forum: Often, friends and family accompany Summit attendees but do not attend the Summit events. NANPA wants to give those people the opportunity to connect. They can meet, get together and find other activities to participate in while their friends or family members are involved with Summit activities. Join the Friends and Family Forum here. First-time Attendees: Are you coming to the Summit for the first time? Do you have questions? Want to meet other first-timers? Check out the First-time Attendee forum to ask you questions and meet others prior to your arrival in Albuquerque. Join the First-time Attendees Forum here.
Friends and Family of NANPA Meet and Greet
There will be a Meet and Greet for Summit attendees’ friends and family members on Thursday, February 19, from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. Go online to the Friends and Family Forum for more information. Meet others with similar interests and discuss activities and places to visit during your time in Albuquerque.
New Attendees Orientation and Reception In addition to the online discussion forum for first-time attendees, we are also offering a short orientation to NANPA. Kathy Adams Clark, past president of NANPA, will answer your questions about NANPA or the Summit. The orientation will be followed by a private reception for new attendees, which includes one free drink, followed by the Welcome Reception for all attendees.
