What's New?

What’s New at the 2010 Summit?
We are very excited about this year’s Nature Photography Summit and we believe you will be, too.  We have a new schedule, new sessions, new events, and new opportunities for you.  And, we are able to bring all of this to you without raising the registration fee.  Check out what is waiting for you in Reno!

New Schedule
The biggest change this year is the Summit schedule.  Because we want to maximize your Trade Show experience, we have significantly altered the traditional schedule of events to allow as many vendors as possible to share their products and services with you.  The Summit starts on Tuesday, February 16, with the Welcome Reception and closes on Friday, February 19.  Post-Summit workshops will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 20 and 21.  Be sure to check out each event to find out when they are being held.

NANPA Annual Awards Celebration
We want everyone to have the opportunity to hear from Joel Sartore, the 2010 NANPA Outstanding Photographer of the Year, and see the other award recipients.  Therefore, we are including the Annual Awards Celebration as part of your registration fee.  There is no additional fee!  This year, the awards celebration will be a special luncheon on Friday, February 19.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Breakouts
We have a new line-up of educational breakout sessions which will be offered once rather than multiple times during the schedule.  They are organized into three tracks:  Skills, Business and Visions.  Plus there is a Special Conservation Session on using photography to reconnect people to nature.

Trade Show
The trade show will open with the Tuesday evening, February 16, Welcome Reception and have extended hours on Wednesday and Thursday, February 17 and 18, to give you all the time you need to visit the booths.  Plus, the lunch area will be in or near the Exhibit Hall so you can wander about and network during that time.

Vendor Sessions
Special educational sessions given by trade show vendors will be offered on Wednesday and Thursday to run concurrently with breakouts.  These are in addition to the exhibitor demonstrations, which will continue to be presented in the afternoons.  Come to the vendor sessions to see what’s new with your favorite manufacturing and service companies.  Check the website’s Summit pages for updates on who will be presenting and on what topics.

Workshop Weekend
Extend your stay over the weekend to enjoy NANPA’s amazing workshops.  Half-day workshops are scheduled for both days, with a special full-day workshop on Saturday.  The Sunday workshops are scheduled only in the morning to give you time in the afternoon to travel.

Keynote Q & A
The Summit’s keynote speakers are always inspirational.  We also know that their presentations often spark questions among the audience.  This year, we are adding a formal time into the schedule following each keynote presentation so that those who are interested can stay and interact with the speaker in a Question and Answer session.  This is another way for you to network with the top professionals in the industry.

First-time Attendees’ Orientation
If this is your first time attending NANPA’s Nature Photography Summit, we encourage you to attend the orientation session on Tuesday, February 16, prior to the Welcome Reception.  Learn more about NANPA, how to get the most out of your Summit experience, ways to network, and answers to other questions you may have.  Meet other first-timers as well as alumni mentors and Board members.  Then, get early entry to the Welcome Reception (you will be first in line at the bar and get the first choice of food!).  The Welcome Reception is for all attendees.

NANPA’s Green Initiative
NANPA’s green efforts have been expanded this year.  For the first time, all Summit information, including this brochure, is available only on the website.  If you want the information in a brochure form, there is a pdf file you can print if you wish.  This reduces the use of paper and saves mass printing and postage costs.  Also, handouts for the breakouts as well as attendees’ lists will again be available only online for registrants to print out if they wish.  And once again, conference tote bags will be made of recycled material.

Author Signing
We are bringing back the Author Signing in the NANPA Store.  Take this opportunity to have authors sign your books.
