Hotel & Travel Information - Mardi Gras
While we are fortunate that the Astor Crowne Plaza is located on the downtown parade route for Mardi Gras, access to the hotel for guests can become challenging over the Mardi Gras holiday (Friday 3/4/11 - Tuesday 3/8/11).

Traffic into the Canal Street area is in the hands of the New Orleans Police Department. The airport shuttle and taxi cabs are in contact with authorities as to the best routes to get you from the airport to the hotels. If you are arriving during the middle of a parade, transportation will get as close as possible to the hotel, but attendees may have to walk a couple of blocks.

Room Rates
AAPB has reserved a block of sleeping rooms at a discounted rate. This allows AAPB the use of the meeting and exhibit space at a great discount. Your support in staying at the Astor Crowne Plaza helps to keep AAPB’s meeting and membership costs down. The discounted rate for the Annual Meeting is $165 for single/double occupancy plus applicable taxes. To receive this special rate, you must identify yourself as an AAPB attendee. Please be sure to book your rooms early as we only have a certain number of rooms available.

Changes and Cancellations
All changes or cancellations must be made directly with the Astor Crowne Plaza.

How to register:

  • Online with a credit card. Confirmations will be sent by e-mail.
  • Fax the registration form to 303.422.8894 with payment.
  • Mail the registration form and payment to: AAPB, 10200 W. 44th Ave, Suite 304, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033

Cancellations received in the AAPB office by February 11, 2011 will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. Cancellations must be made in writing and faxed to 303.422.8894 or emailed to aapb@resourcenter.com. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations cancelled after the conference begins.

Airport Shuttle (504-522-3500)is the Official Ground Transportation Provider for the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport  offering transportation to and from Downtown & Uptown New Orleans Hotels, the French Quarter, the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center & the Cruise Terminals.

Rates:

  • Adults (6 or older): $38.00 Round Trip per person; $20.00 One-Way per person
  • Child (under 6) Free
  • First 3 bags per passenger are Free
