from the President-Elect: Jeff Bolek, PhD
Yesterday my wife, (a
Speech-Language Pathologist), received her latest copy of the ASHA
"Leader," the American Speech Hearing Association monthly
magazine. An article on the front page got my attention, "Medicare
Repeals Endoscopy Rules." On 1/1/2011 the Centers for Medicaid and
Medicare Services instituted a requirement that a physician be in the
room supervising a speech-language pathologist performing an endoscopy.
The rule replaced the previous requirement that a physician be
immediately available but not necessarily in the room during the
procedure. What does this have to do with applied psychophysiology?
