Welcome to the 2012 ACHNE Annual Institute. This year we are working on an exciting program, offering you a wealth of opportunities for professional development and personal enjoyment. Purpose
To provide community/public health nurse educators innovative, effective, evidenced-based strategies to meet twenty-first century public health priorities.

Intended Audience

Public health nurses, managers, public health and community health nurse educators, students, and partners interested in public health nursing issues.

Conference objectives 
Upon completion of this conference the participant will be able to:

  1. Describe teaching and learning strategies that promote physical, social and global health in clinical, classroom, and online courses.
  2. Describe innovative teaching strategies to prepare students for culturally congruent practice in local and global environments.
  3. Discuss undergraduate and graduate curricula innovations designed to prepare students to promote healthy practice environments.
  4. Examine the relationship between environmental health and C/PHN education, practice, and research.
  5. Examine nursing research on healthy environments for evidenced-based C/PHN education and practice. 

  
Continuing Education:
Contact hours have been applied for from North Carolina Nurse’s Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission of Accreditation.

  • Online with a credit card. Confirmations will be sent by e-mail.
  • Fax the registration form to 303-422-8894 with payment.
  • Mail the registration form and payment to: ACHNE, 10200 W 44th Ave, Suite 304, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.

Cancellations:
Notification of cancellation must be submitted in writing. Cancellations received on or before May 18, 2012 will be issued a refund less a $50 processing fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after May 18, 2012.

ACHNE reserves the right to cancel any event due to insufficient registration or any unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event of cancellation, ACHNE is not responsible for any costs, damages, or other expenses of any kind, including, without limitation, transportation, and/or hotel costs incurred by registrant. Portland International Airport:

  • Distance from hotel: 11 mi.
  • Drive time: 20 min.
  • Directions: 205 South to I-84 West, Take Exit 1 Lloyd Center. Turn right on NE 11th.

Public Transportation:
Portland's MAX light rail stops just outside the hotel (Lloyd Center/NE 11th stop) and offers service from the Portland International Airport. MAX makes getting around town easy with a rail free zone from the hotel to the heart of downtown Portland.
